About SIRC
Terms and Conditions
Rights
SIRC grants the Subscriber and authorized users at the Subscriber's institution the right to access the electronic version of those journal volumes for which the Subscriber maintains an electronic subscription.
It is a condition of receiving access to the electronic journals that any person who violates either the copyright or the restrictions on distribution, or who condones such acts, may be deprived of future access, including access to back issues, without compensation or refund, while SIRC retains the further right to any legal remedies that may be available.
Authorized Users
Authorized users of an institutional membership are defined as employees, faculty, and students of the Subscriber and an individual subscription is limited to the individual whose name appears on the membership.
Usage Restrictions
The Subscriber and authorized users may view, print, and download single copies of articles or other content for personal use.
The Subscriber and authorized users may not make copies for general distribution, for advertising or other promotional purposes, for creating new collective works, or for any resale purpose such as document delivery. For such copying, separate agreements must be made with the copyright owner. The Subscriber will notify all authorized users of permitted and prohibited use, and the Subscriber will take any corrective action necessary against authorized users who contravene these conditions.
Copyright
As a library, document supplier, and publisher, SIRC has strict copyright policies. The material on this site is covered by the provisions of the Copyright Act, by Canadian laws, policies, regulations and international agreements. Such provisions serve to identify the information source and, in specific instances, to prohibit reproduction of materials without written permission.
No part of this publication may be reproduced, stored, or transmitted in any form or by any means, without the written permission of the publisher.
SIRC grants permission to individuals to download or print single copies of articles for personal use. Any person may reproduce short excerpts from articles in the journals for any purpose that respects the moral rights of authors, provided that the source is fully acknowledged. As a courtesy, the consent of authors of such material should be obtained directly from the author.
Non-commercial Reproduction
Information on this site has been posted with the intent that it be readily available for personal and public non-commercial use and may be reproduced, in part or in whole and by any means, without charge or further permission SIRC. We ask only that:
- Users exercise due diligence in ensuring the accuracy of the materials reproduced;
- SIRC be identified as the source; and,
- The reproduction is not represented as an official version of the materials reproduced, nor as having been made, in affiliation with or with the endorsement of SIRC.
Commercial Reproduction
Reproduction of multiple copies of materials on this site, in whole or in part, for the purposes of commercial redistribution is prohibited except with written permission from SIRC.
Third-party Materials
Some of the materials and graphical elements found on SIRC’s Web sites are subject to copyrights held by other organizations. This is particularly true of sites that are jointly operated by a Government of Canada institution and an external organization as part of a collaborative arrangement. In such cases, some restrictions on the reproduction of materials or graphical elements may apply and it may be necessary to seek permission from the rights holder prior to reproducing the material.
Warranty
SIRC accepts no responsibility for statements or opinions expressed by a contributor and consequently accepts no liability for damages that may result from the Subscriber's use of SIRC journals. Acceptance of an advertisement, announcement, or other material does not imply endorsement by either the Journal Editors or SIRC.

Fees and Payments
(a) You can always find the current Subscription Fees and charges posted under My Account on the SIRC Web site. Your subscription will continue and renew automatically unless terminated by SIRC or until You notify SIRC of Your decision to change Your subscription renewal. For cancellation instructions, log in to your account and click the Billing Information section of your My Account page. If there are any annual, monthly or similar periodic fees for Your subscription, these fees will be billed automatically to the credit card designated during the registration process, or subsequently designated to SIRC at the start of the subscription period and at the start of each renewal period, unless You terminate Your subscription before the relevant period begins. You agree to pay or have paid all fees and charges incurred in connection with Your subscription for SIRC Membership (including any applicable taxes) at the rates in effect when the charges were incurred. SIRC may change the fees and charges then in effect, or add new fees or charges, by giving You notice in advance. All fees and charges incurred in connection with Your user name and password will be billed to the credit card designated during the registration process for SIRC Membership or subsequently designated to SIRC. You also are responsible for any fees or charges incurred to access SIRC through an Internet access provider or other third party service. YOU, AND NOT SIRC, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING ANY AMOUNTS BILLED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD BY A THIRD PARTY, WHICH WERE NOT AUTHORIZED BY YOU. This Agreement is personal to You, and You may not assign Your rights or obligations to anyone.
(b) Credit Cards. As a condition to your right to use the Service, You must provide us with a valid credit card number belonging to you with available credit sufficient to pay the applicable Service Fees. In the event that you cancel this credit card or it is otherwise terminated, you must immediately provide us with a new valid credit card number. You authorize SIRC, from time to time, to undertake steps to determine whether the credit card number you have provided to us is a valid credit card number. In the event that you do not provide us with a current valid credit card number with sufficient credit upon request during the effective period of this Agreement, you will be in violation of this Agreement, and we may terminate this Agreement with You.
(c) Trial Offers, Coupons, Credits and Special Offers. SIRC reserves the right to discontinue or modify coupons, credits and special promotional offers at our discretion.
(d) To view the specific details regarding your free trial, if any, please visit your My Account page. The Free Trial offer associated with SIRC entitles new, registered subscribers to a one-time free trial usage of the service. Free Trial terms vary by promotional offer. We will begin billing your credit card for a monthly subscription at the end of your free trial period unless you cancel prior to the end of your free trial. Visit your My Account page to view the end date of your free trial. YOU MUST CANCEL PRIOR TO THE END OF YOUR FREE TRIAL TO AVOID CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD. We will continue to bill your credit card on a monthly basis until you cancel. You may cancel your subscription at any time. For cancellation instructions, log in to your account and click the Billing Information section under My Account.
(e) Subscription Renewals. Your SIRC subscription will be automatically renewed
unless you change your selected subscription option prior to the end of your
current subscription period. Your subscription options are located under My Account
on the Billing Information page. For your convenience, we will bill the subscription
fee to the credit card you provided to us during registration (or to a different
credit card if you make a change to your account information). Please contact
us if you need assistance in updating your subscription
options, making a change to your plan or if you need to request a refund.
