Anti-Doping

Doping in sport is a serious issue. SIRC is pleased to partner with the Association of National Anti-Doping Organisations (ANADO) to bring you the latest information on anti-doping.

With the World Conference on Doping in Sport taking place in Madrid this month, SIRC would like to take the time to highlight doping issues in our newsletter and with the SIRC Seminar on November 6th featuring Casey Wade, Executive Director of ANADO and Paul Melia, President and CEO of CCES.

Guide to the CODE

January 1, 2007, marks the three-year anniversity of the World Anti-Doping Code's (Code) coming into force. At the same time, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is conducting a consultation with stakeholders for a review of the Code with the intent to fine-tune the core document that serves as the foundation for the global fight against doping in sport. Play True takes this opportunity to provide a closer look at the Code, from its genesis to the principles it champions, and considers the next phase in the evolution of global efforts for clean sport.

The lingering effect of doping, physically and mentally, on the athletes is discussed highlighting the impact of being drugged without parental consent, considered a traitor to their sport and dealing with irreversible damage to their bodies.
