SIRC Announces SIRCLit, a Literature Review Service
Ottawa April 2, 2007 –SIRC (Sport Information Resource Centre) is pleased to announce that they are now providing SIRCLit, a Literature Review service for researchers.
When doing research, it is important to know that your literature review has been comprehensive, however time and efficiency are often a key factor. SIRC librarians are specialized in the areas of sport and fitness, sport science and sport medicine as well as health and wellness.
“Our librarians see and index thousands of articles every month from publications around the world, as a result they are very knowledgeable about trends, terminology and searching global resources” says Debra Gassewitz, CEO and President of SIRC. “Having trusted professionals assist with your research ensures your literature review is done properly and efficiently.”
The Literature Review Service
Our professional indexers and research librarians will save researchers time and cost by completing the literature review process on behalf of a library patron. With access to SIRC’s vast collection of sport information, as well as the SPORTDiscus and many other databases, including access to a great variety of libraries, we are uniquely positioned to provide researchers with subject specific information required for preparing newsletters, news articles, research papers, lesson materials, position statements, etc. This service provides citations to articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and more, as well as delivering the document to the subscriber.
“I am delighted that SIRC is adding literature reviews to its services. It could be an important, time-saving aid to decision-makers in government, NGOs/NSOs, the media and anyone else who wants a comprehensive sense of the evidence base on a particular subject or course of action.” - Bruce Kidd is the Dean, Faculty of Physical Education and Health, University of Toronto
